Personal accounts

You can use the NILQ map without an account. A free personal account lets you keep stays, searches and notes. You must be 16 or older, give a real email address, and keep your password to yourself. One person, one account.

What NILQ shows you

NILQ Scores, travel times and place details are estimates built from third-party and open data. They help you compare places; they are not a promise about a stay, its availability, price or quality. Check what matters to you with the host or provider before you book. NILQ is not a booking platform and is not party to anything you arrange with a host.

Fair use

Use NILQ for your own planning. Do not scrape it, overload it, get around its limits, or use it to break the law. NILQ may limit, suspend or close an account that does.

Ending and changes

You can delete your account at any time under Account; your saved data goes with it. NILQ may change or stop personal features and will say so on the site first when that affects saved data. Material changes to these terms apply from the date shown above.

Liability and law

Personal accounts are free and provided as they are. To the extent the law allows, NILQ is not liable for decisions you make based on NILQ information. Nothing here limits rights you have as a consumer under the law of the country where you live. Dutch law applies otherwise. Questions: privacy@nilq.com.

Scope and acceptance

These terms apply to the NILQ location intelligence API, its MCP interface, bulk jobs, saved catalogues and the related documentation (together, the Service). They form the agreement between NILQ and the business that signs up or receives API credentials (the Customer).

The Service is offered to businesses only, not to consumers. By using a credential you confirm that you act for a business and may bind it to these terms. A signed order or written agreement with different terms prevails over these terms where they conflict.

The Service

NILQ provides place data, reachability (routes, matrices, travel-time areas), address lookup, living-conditions context and analysis for the countries shown as available on the API page and in the capabilities endpoint. Functions marked as being added are not part of the Service until they are shown as available.

NILQ may improve, change or retire parts of the Service. We give at least 30 days notice by email before removing a function that a paying Customer uses, unless a source provider, law or security requires a faster change.

Accounts and credentials

The Customer creates API keys in the NILQ console, or NILQ issues them privately. NILQ shows a new key once and keeps only a hash. Keep keys secret, do not put them in public code or URLs, and tell us at once at api@nilq.com if a key may be exposed. We may revoke a key that is exposed or misused and issue a replacement.

The Customer is responsible for all use made with its keys.

Plans, fees and payment

The plan in the order or on the API page sets the limits: saved addresses, monthly lookups, markets, request rate, bulk and refresh features, and result reuse. Limits apply per organization across all its keys and interfaces.

Fees are in euros and exclude VAT. Monthly plans are invoiced monthly in advance, annual plans yearly in advance. Invoices are payable within 14 days. The price of a paid plan is held for the first 12 months; after that NILQ may change it with at least 60 days notice before the next renewal.

Plans renew for the same period unless either party cancels before the end of the current period. Fees already paid are not refunded, except where NILQ ends the Service without cause.

Fair use and restrictions

The Customer will not: resell or sublicense raw API access as a standalone data or API product; bulk copy NILQ data to build a competing dataset; bypass rate limits, quotas or access controls; probe, overload or attack the Service; or use the Service for unlawful purposes, surveillance of individuals or decisions that must by law not rely on automated location data.

NILQ may slow down or pause traffic that threatens the stability of the Service for other customers, and will tell the Customer why.

Customer data

The Customer keeps all rights in the addresses, coordinates, references and other inputs it sends (Customer Data). NILQ uses Customer Data only to provide, secure and support the Service, and does not sell it or use it to train models.

Request logs exclude address text, search text and results. Where Customer Data includes personal data, NILQ processes it as a processor on the Customer's instructions, and will sign a data processing agreement on request.

Results and data sources

Within its plan, the Customer may use, store and show API results in its own products and to its own customers, for as long as its plan allows result reuse. Temporary bulk result files expire after their stated period; download them in time.

Results include data from third-party sources such as OpenStreetMap contributors, Foursquare OS Places, CNIG, DGT and Copernicus ERA5-Land. The Customer shows the attribution these sources require, listed on the data sources page, where results are shown to others.

Availability and support

NILQ works to keep the Service available and monitors it continuously, but does not promise a specific uptime unless an order includes a written service level. Planned maintenance is announced where practical.

Support is provided through the channel of the plan. Location data describes the world at the date of its source release and can contain gaps or errors; results are decision support, not legal, safety or valuation advice.

Liability

Neither party is liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profit or lost data. Each party's total liability under these terms in any 12 months is limited to the fees the Customer paid for the Service in those 12 months. These limits do not apply to intent or gross negligence, or where the law does not allow them.

The Customer indemnifies NILQ against third-party claims caused by its unlawful use of the Service or breach of the restrictions above.

Confidentiality and security

Each party keeps the other's non-public business information confidential and uses it only for this agreement. NILQ protects the Service and Customer Data with appropriate technical and organizational measures, and informs the Customer without undue delay of a security incident affecting its data.

Suspension and termination

Either party may end the agreement at the end of a billing period. NILQ may suspend or end access at once for non-payment after a reminder, serious misuse or a legal requirement.

After termination, access stops. NILQ deletes the Customer's saved catalogue and stored answers within 30 days, unless the law requires longer retention. Export your data before the end date.

Changes, law and contact

NILQ may update these terms. Material changes are sent by email at least 30 days before they apply; continued use after that date means acceptance.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Disputes go to the competent court in the Netherlands. Questions: api@nilq.com.
